- קָדֵשm. (b. h.; קָדַש (cut off, rejected, cmp. חרם) sodomite. Sifré Deut. 260 ק׳ חמור the sodomite whose crime is the severer one (v. infra).Pl. קְדֵשִׁים. Esth. R. to I, 9 (expl. מעולל, Is. 3:12) ק׳ בהון sodomites were among them (with ref. to ויתעללו, Jud. 19:25).Fem. קְדֵשָׁה prostitute. Sifré l. c. ק׳ קלה the Ḳdeshah whose crime is a minor one (compared with that of the Ḳadesh).
